DURAHM, N.C. – Junior Austin Cody, sophomore Turner Southey-Gordon and freshman Motin Yeung will represent the Duke men’s golf team in the third-annual Bash at the Beach. The 54-hole, three-day tournament is being played March 10-12 at the 6,842 yard, par-72 Surf Golf and Beach Club.
A native of North Charleston, S.C., Cody is coming off his best finish of the season after finishing the rain-shortened John Hayt Invitational in a three-way tie for third with four-under 140 (70-70). For the season, Cody has appeared in five tournaments and owns a 73.8 stroke average with six rounds of even-par or better golf.
Coming off a second-place showing at the Heel Devil Individual, Southey-Gordon ranks third on the Blue Devils with a 73.0 stroke average. He has played a total of four rounds on the season with one under-par and one even-par effort.
Yeung owns a 73.3 stroke average for the year with a pair of top-10 finishes. He opened his career with a tie for sixth showing at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate and also has a tied for third finish at the Heel Devil Individual.
Along with the Blue Devils, the field for the event includes representatives from 12 schools, including host Appalachian State, George Mason, High Point, Jacksonville, James Madison, North Carolina Central, Northeastern State, Radford, St. Leo, UNC Pembroke, Western Kentucky and Wright State.
