DURHAM, N.C. – Four Blue Devil golfers conclude their fall season at the Pirate Intercollegiate Oct. 28-29 at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, N.C. Senior Austin Cody, junior Turner Southey-Gordon and freshmen Andrew Bieber and Alexander Matlari will compete as individuals in the event.
Matlari enters the Pirate Intercollegiate with a 74.0 stroke average with two under-par and two even-par efforts of his nine rounds of action. The Leimen, Germany, native recorded season-best tie for 16th finish at the Rod Myers Invitational with three-over 219 (75-72-72).
Southey-Gordon has also played nine fall rounds, registering a 74.6 stroke average with a season-low 69 in the second round of the DICK’S Sporting Goods Collegiate Cup Challenge. Bieber and Cody have each played six rounds this fall with 76.8 and 80.8 stroke averages, respectively.
Duke returns to team action Feb. 10-11 at The Farms Collegiate Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
