WINTER GARDEN, FLA – Former Blue Devil standout Kevin Streelman finished tied for 14th in the final stage of the PGA Q School to earn full playing privileges on the 2008 PGA TOUR. The 2007 PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament was contested over six rounds at two different courses at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.

Streelman opened with a 71 in the final stage before posted four consecutive rounds in the 60s, capped off with a fifth round score of six-under 66.  The Winfield, Ill., native posted a 73 in the final round to finish with a 16-under 416 and claim one of 26 tour cards that were punched at the 2007 Q School.

"This is huge for me,” said Streelman. “It has been an amazing week. To finish strong after an ugly mid-back nine was huge. I'm ecstatic. I'm definitely comfortable in my game right now. I turned pro in 2001 and my career has been a steady progression ever since. To be able to play the courses that they play on the PGA TOUR will be huge for my development. This is amazing. I couldn't have a better support system around me and that is a big reason why I'm going to the PGA TOUR next year."

In the second stage, Streelman tied for medalist honors at the Royal Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz., with at 17-under 271 (67-69-67-66). He advanced past the first stage by finishing tied for 20th at the San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister, Calif., with a seven-under 281 (70-72-70-69).

Streelman won the Opelika Classic earlier this year on the Hooters Tour and has three runner-up finishes on that tour over the past three years. He also collected three wins on the Gateway Tour in 2007.  He turned some heads in 2005 when he opened the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee with a 5-under 65 (T7) before eventually finishing T29.

As a Blue Devil, Streelman posted 20 rounds of under par golf and 10 top 20 finishes. As a senior in 2000-01, he carded 73.4 stroke average, 14 sub-par rounds and claimed medalist honors at the Intercollegiate. He also finished tied for 15th at the 2001 ACC Tournament. Streelman also helped the Blue Devils to five tournament championships while lettering in 1998, 2000 and 2001.

Streelman joins 1996 Duke graduate Joe Ogilvie on the PGA TOUR. Last year, Olgivie won the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee and finished 69th on the TOUR Money List.
