Alex Merrill joined the Duke strength and conditioning staff in September of 2010.
Merrill oversees program design and implementation for men’s and women’s golf, wrestling and track & field.
Before joining Duke, Merrill was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Attain Sports Performance, a private training facility in Western Massachusetts.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Keene State College in Physical Education and a Master’s degree from Springfield College in Applied Exercise Science. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
Merrill also earned certification from Nike Golf 360 in 2013. The Nike Golf 360 is a holistic approach to improving golfers’ performance through physical evaluation and training, custom fitting of equipment and digital tracking tools.
