NEW ORLEANS, La.- Following damaging overnight weather in the New Orleans area, the second round of the 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship has been cancelled at the English Turn Golf and Country Club. Play will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 8:00 a.m., with a shotgun start for the final round.
During the night, severe thunderstorms produced high winds and close to three inches of rain, and brought dime-sized hail to the course. The clean-up for Tuesday’s second round has begun.
Duke will enter the final round one shot off the lead, after turning in a five-under-par, 283, on Sunday. Tulane is the leader with a six-under-par, 282. The Blue Devils feature four golfers in the top 20 of the individual leaderboard – Celine Boutier (T7th), Lindy Duncan (T7th), Alejandra Cangrejo (T15th) and Laetitia Beck (T20th).
The Blue Devils are the defending champions at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.
