Lindy Duncan has been named the ACC Women’s Golfer of the Month for April, after leading the third-ranked Blue Devils to a second place finish in a power-packed field last weekend at the PING/ASU Invitational.DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University senior
Duncan, who is out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., turned in a five-under-par, 211, over the three days earning a tie for fifth place versus a field that included 11 members of the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index top 25. She turned in rounds of 69, 71 and 71 over the weekend and rolled in 13 birdies. As a team, Duke fired a 54-hole season-best 854, which was 10-under-par.
It marked Duncan’s fourth top 10 finish this season and lowered her national ranking to No. 8 in the Golfweek ledger. Her 18 career top-five finishes now ranks tied for fifth in the Duke record book, while her 36 top-20 placements now ranks tied for second in the Blue Devil books.
The honor for Duncan marks the fourth time in her career she has earned ACC Golfer of the Month. The ACC Women’s Golfer of the month for April included tournaments played April 1-15, 2013.
Duke will next compete in the ACC Championship from April 19-21 in Greensboro, N.C., at the Sedgefield Country Club. The Blue Devils are the defending champions, while Duncan is the reigning ACC Individual Champion.
