DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University rising sophomore Celine Boutier carded rounds of 73, 69 and 71 over the weekend on her way to finishing second at the St. Rule Trophy, which is one of the most prestigious tournaments on the British amateur women’s calendar, in St. Andrews, United Kingdom.

Boutier, who is out of Montrouge, France, trailed by three strokes heading into the final day of competition and after notching birdies on No. 16 and No. 17, she trailed by only two strokes with the par-four 18th remaining.  She finished with a par and for the tournament; Boutier shot a 14-under-par, 213.  Ailsa Summers won the St. Rule Trophy with a 16-under-par, 211.  

The 2013 ACC Rookie of the Year and Honorable Mention All-America, Boutier is coming off a season where she totaled a 73.45 stroke average to go along with four top 10 finishes.  Her 73.45 stroke average was the sixth-best single-season stroke average by a Duke freshman.  

Boutier is planning on next competing in the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship from June 11-15.
