Yu Liu has been named the ACC Co-Golfer of the Month for October, which was released by the league office on Tuesday.DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University freshman
Liu, who is a product of Beijing, China, earned the honor along with Clemson rookie Ashlan Ramsey.
In two tournaments during October, Liu collected a pair of top-six finishes, while helping the Blue Devils claim the team victory at the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. Liu carded a sixth place ledger at the Tar Heel Invitational with rounds of 71, 71 and 71 for a total of three-under-par, 213. She closed the month with a second place finish at the Landfall Tradition with rounds of 74, 69 and 72 for an one-under-par, 215. Liu was only two shots off the lead at the Landfall tournament, while the Blue Devils placed second overall as a team.
In the ACC overall stats, Liu ranks second in the league with a 71.70 stroke average. She has totaled three top 10 finishes in three tournaments played as a Blue Devil.
Duke will be off for the rest of the fall campaign before opening spring action on Feb. 9-11 at the Northrop Grumman Challenge.
