DURHAM, N.C.— Duke sophomore Celine Boutier, who is a product of Montrouge, France, took some time away from her summer recently to sit down with to answer a few questions.  Boutier, who was the 2013 ACC Rookie of the Year and was an Honorable Mention All-America, has had a busy summer so far playing overseas.

What are your plans for the summer?

I am just going play some tournaments over in Europe and spend time with my family at home.  I didn't get the chance to see them very often this year.

Do you have any certain part of your game you are trying to work on this summer?

My short game and putting need to be better!
What do you like best about playing for head coach Dan Brooks?

It's probably the fact that he trusts every player on our team so he lets us do what we think we should do on the course and at practice times. He doesn't try to impose anything in our games.
What is your most memorable summer vacation?

Last year in Chicago, we went there for the summer with my family. It had been a while since we had the time to go anywhere cool for the summer so it was awesome to discover that city with them.  We had a blast. It was definitely one of the best vacations we had in the last couple years.
What do you enjoy most about the summer?

All the free time!
What is your favorite rainy day summertime board game to play with friends or family?

Anything with cards
If you had to choose from these three, what would you go with – ocean, lake or pool and why?

Ocean! This is because the landscape is so much better and there are so many things to do.  You can't get bored
Have you ever tried to surf?
No but I would love to learn

Do you prefer having hot dogs or hamburgers on the grill?

Hot dogs
Do you prefer a smoothie, ice cream or yogurt during the summer?

Ice cream
What do you like doing when you get a chance to have free time away from the golf course?

I love shopping and going to the movies
When you have a chance to get back home to France, what are the first few things you enjoy doing?
Eat, catch up with my friends and family, speak French (finally), and just enjoy not having anything to do all day!

How was your adjustment to Duke this year coming from France?
It was pretty tough the first semester, but then I got way more organized.  I got used to the system and everything so it was much easier and enjoyed more of my time the second semester.

What do you like most about being at Duke and playing golf?
I love being able to study in one of the best universities in the U.S. and playing golf at the highest level at the same time. I also love that you can meet all kinds of people at Duke!
