Women’s Golf Listed No. 5 in Latest Golf World Poll

DURHAM, N.C. – Following a second place finish at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championship this past weekend, the Duke women’s golf team remained fifth in the latest Golf World/NGCA Coaches’ Poll that was released this week.
Taking the top slot in the Golf World poll was UCLA with 20 first place votes, while Southern California, Alabama, Purdue, Duke, Virginia, LSU, Arizona, California and Arkansas rounded out the top 10. The team listed 11-25 were Arizona State, Tennessee, Georgia, Wake Forest, Iowa State, Tulane, Auburn, Pepperdine, Vanderbilt, Florida, Texas, UC Davis, Michigan State, North Carolina and Notre Dame.
Duke totaled rounds of 297, 302 and 300 at the ACC Championship to finish second behind North Carolina. Sophomore Lindy Duncan continued her solid season with a four place showing with rounds of 73, 76 and 70 for a total of 219.
The Blue Devils await the NCAA Regionals selection, which will be announced on Monday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. The three sites for the regionals are Notre Dame, LPGA International and Washington National.
