DURHAM, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) released its 2011 All-ACC Women’s Golf team on Monday with Duke University sophomore Lindy Duncan capturing ACC Player  of the Year accolades, while freshman Laetitia Beck earned ACC Rookie of the Year honors by a vote of the league’s nine head coaches.

Duncan became just the fourth ACC golfer in league history to win the ACC Player of the Year award on at least two occasions -- Jenny Chuasiriporn (1997, 1998, 1999), Beth Bauer (1999, 2000) and Amanda Blumenherst (2006-09) -- all former Duke golfers.  A Blue Devil golfer has been named ACC Player of the Year 14 times over the last 15 years.

The 13th Blue Devil to be named ACC Rookie of the Year, Beck joins Chuasiriporn (1996), Kalen Anderson (1998), Bauer (1999), Maria Garcia-Estrada (2000), Niloufar Aazam-Zanganeh (2002), Liz Janangelo (2003), Brittany Lang (2004), Jennifer Pandolfi (2005), Blumenherst (2006), Alison Whitaker (2007) and Duncan (2010) as other Duke golfers to receive the award.

Both Duncan and Beck were also named to the 12-person All-ACC squad.  It marks the 12th straight year the Blue Devils have registered two or more golfers on the All-ACC team.  Duke also took both the Player and Rookie of the Year awards for the 11th time in league history.

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Duncan led the ACC with a 72.52 stroke average and is currently ranked 10th nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.  She has totaled one victory, five top five finishes, seven top 10 and eight top 20 placements on the season.

Duncan netted her second collegiate victory at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic with rounds of 72, 75 and 71 for a total of 218.  She won the title on the third playoff hole.  Her 13 rounds of even or under par on the season and her 96.0 percentage of rounds counted led Duke.  At the 2011 ACC Championship, Duncan was fourth and was named ACC Golfer of the Month for March.

Beck, who is out of Caesarea, Israel, has registered a 73.75 stroke average on the season, which ranks second on the Duke team and sixth in the ACC, including tops among freshmen in the league.  She has notched two top five, three top 10 and five top 20 finishes on the year.

Ranked 32nd in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, Beck was recently named ACC Golfer of the Month for April following a third place finish at the Liz Murphey Collegiate.  She has led two tournaments following the first round (Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate) and the second round (Bryan National Collegiate).

North Carolina’s Jan Mann was named ACC Coach of the Year.

Duke will next compete in the NCAA Central Regional from May 5-7 at the Warren Golf Course  in Notre Dame, Ind.
