DURHAM, N.C. - Former Duke University All-America and NCAA Champion Anna Grzebien qualified for the 2011 U.S. Women's Open on Thursday as she carded rounds of 76 and 69 at the Crestview Country Club in Agawam, Mass.
Grzebien was one of seven qualifiers from the site with Alison Walshe earning medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 142. With a total of 145, Grzebien was third. Other qualifiers were Dewi Chreefel (144), Jennifer Kirby (146), Harukyo Nomura (148), Brittany Marchand (148) and Jaclyn Sweeney (149).
A 2007 Duke graduate, Grzebien will be making her fourth appearance in the U.S. Women's Open. In her last open competition in 2009, she finished in the top 20 at Saucon Valley.
The U.S. Open will take place from July 7-10 at The Broadmoor East Course in Colorado Springs, Colo.
