DURHAM, N.C. – Following a victory at the Tar Heel Invitational Oct. 13, Duke’s fourth-ranked women’s golf team travels to Wilmington, N.C., Friday, Oct. 25, to compete in the Landfall Tradition held at the Country Club of Landfall.

The three-day event, hosted by UNC-Wilmington, showcases nine ranked teams from last season, including No. 2 Alabama, No. 7 Arizona, No. 25 Michigan State, No. 15 North Carolina, No. 21 NC State, No. 16 Oklahoma State, No. 11 Purdue and No. 14 Virginia. Duke captured the Landfall Tradition team championship in 2009.

The tournament, played on the 6,204-yard, par 72, Pete Dye Course, commences with tee times slated to start at 8:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, followed by a shotgun start scheduled for 8:45 a.m., Sunday.

The Blue Devils will field a lineup of freshman Yu Liu, sophomore Celine Boutier, senior Laetitia Beck, freshman Sandy Choi and freshman Esther Lee.  Senior Alejandra Cangrejo will compete as an individual.  Three of Duke’s top finishers from the Tar Heel Invitational tee off in Wilmington Friday. Boutier and Beck enter this weekend’s competition following third-place finishes. Boutier carded rounds of 73, 68 and 71 in Chapel Hill, while Beck posted rounds of 69, 71 and 72. Liu also placed in the top-10 in Chapel Hill, recording three straight rounds of 71 to place sixth and owns two top 10 placements in two tournaments to open her collegiate career.

Choi, who is out of San Diego, Calif., concluded the Tar Heel Invitational with a three-over-par 75 and placed tied 27th with a 54-hole total of 220. She placed 24th at the NCAA Fall Preview in September, the highest finish of the San Diego, Calif., native’s young collegiate career.

Fellow freshman Lee, a product of Los Alamitos, Calif., makes her Duke debut Friday, after a stellar high school and amateur career which saw the 2012 First Team Rolex Junior All-American play on the Junior Ryder Cup team in 2012.
