RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Three former Duke University women’s golf standouts finished in the top 26 of stage one of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament at the Mission Hills Country Club Palmer and Dinah Shore Course in Rancho Mirage, Calif.  Following 72 holes of action, Yu Liu, Laetitia Beck and Alejandra Cangrejo advanced to stage II of qualifying.  

The 2014 ACC Rookie of the Year, Liu turned in rounds of 70, 69, 74 and 72 to finish tied seventh with a 285.  Beck, who is out of Caesarea, Israel, posted scores of 74, 73, 71 and 71 for a 72-hole ledger of 289 for a tied 19th placement.  Cangrejo, who is from Bogota, Colombia, carded rounds of 77, 70, 69 and 74 for a 290 to place tied 26th.  

Taking medalist honors was Emily Tubert with a 12-under-par, 276, after notching rounds of 68, 71, 67 and 70.  

The trio will next play in the LPGA stage II qualifying Sept. 30-Oct. 3 at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla.
