DURHAM, N.C. – Coming off wins in four straight matches, the No. 25 Duke men’s tennis team will have a tough weekend ahead of them as they travel to Virginia for a pair of matches against top 30 teams this weekend.

On Friday the Blue Devils will be in Charlottesville, Va. to take on No. 1 Virginia at 3 p.m. The Cavaliers enter the match with an undefeated 22-0 record for the season and lead the ACC with an unblemished 7-0 mark in conference play. Virginia has three ranked singles players in the top 25, including No. 17 Dominic Inglot, No. 20 Michael Shabaz and No. 25 Sanam Singh. Also ranked is No. 82 Lee Singer in singles. In doubles Virginia has two teams ranked including, No. 6 Singh and Houston Barrick and No. 14 Inglot and Shabaz.

Duke and Virginia will meet for the 79th time with the Blue Devils leading the all-time series 50-28. The Cavaliers have won the last five regular season matches between the two schools. Duke’s last win over Virginia came in the 2006 ACC Tournament championship match.

The Blue Devils will head to Blacksburg, Va. on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match against No. 26 Virginia Tech. The Hokies are currently 11-4 overall and 4-2 in the ACC. Yoann Re leads the way in singles, ranking 56th nationally.

Duke has dominated the all-time series with Virginia Tech, winning 20 of the 21 matches. The Hokies earned their first ever win over Duke last season, edging the Blue Devils 4-3 in Durham.

The Blue Devils are coming off a 5-2 win over North Carolina on Wednesday that stretched their season record to 12-5 and 5-2 in the ACC. Duke won five singles matches after falling behind 2-0. Several players continued their stellar play. Luke Marchese extended his winning streak to 11 straight singles contests and remained perfect in ACC play at 7-0. Dylan Arnould earned his fourth straight win and is 5-2 in league play while Kiril Dimitrov improved to 5-1 in ACC matches and picked up his team-high 22nd singles win.
