Blue Devils Continue Challenging Schedule
Duke continued its tough schedule this past weekend when it hosted third-ranked Notre Dame on a snowy afternoon in Durham. With weather more like that in South Bend, Ind., the Irish got off to a fast start with a 6-0 lead with 2:55 left in the second quarter. It took the Blue Devils 29:21 to get on the board when Myles Jones netted an unassisted tally and sent Duke into the locker room trailing 8-1.

The Blue Devils came out strong in the third quarter with three unanswered in the first 6:40 to pull within four, 8-4. However, the seven-goal deficit proved to be too much as Notre Dame scored five of the game's final six goals.

Duke came back less than 24 hours later and turned in a balanced scoring effort to defeat Mercer 15-3. Jordan Wolf and David Lawson both had four goals apiece to lead the Blue Devils offense. All four of Duke's goalies saw action between the pipes as each got 15 minutes in goal.

Manning the Defense
Junior longstick midfielder Luke Duprey had a career game against Notre Dame Saturday. The 6-5 Concord, N.H., native registered a career-high five caused turnovers with some highlight takeaways and a career-best four ground balls. The five caused turnovers are the second most by a Blue Devil since the NCAA started tracking the stat in 2010. Only Tom Montelli '11 had more with six against Sacred Heart in 2010. Duprey leads Duke with 10 caused turnovers as the Blue Devils top the ACC with 8.25 takeaways per game this season.

With the Extra Man
Duke has fared much better this season on extra man offense. The Blue Devils already have eight man-up scores after notching just 17 in 20 games last season. Duke is successful in 57 percent of its man-up chances in 2013. Wolf is tops on the team with five extra-man tallies, one more than his two previous seasons combined.

Wolf Dishing and Scoring
The junior attackman leads all Duke players in goals (13) and assists (6) this season and is one of two players in the ACC to rank in the top five in goals and assists per game. Wolf ranks third in goals per game (3.25) and fifth in assists per game (1.50) and joins Kevin Cooper of Maryland on the list. Cooper is fourth in goals per game (3.00) and tied for third in assists per game (2.50). Duke is the only team in the ACC to have played more than two games, making Wolf's accomplishment even more impressive.

On Target
With 13 goals on just 23 shots, Wolf sports an impressive .565 shot percentage. After four games last season he had nine goals in 26 shots for a .346 percentage. His first four games as a rookie featured three goals from 15 shots (.200), demonstrating the Wynnewood, Pa., native's steady improvement over the course of his career.

Fowler Facing Off
Junior Brendan Fowler has been outstanding at the faceoff X for the Blue Devils this season. Fowler has won at least 10 draws in every game this season and is averaging an ACC-best 10 ground balls per game. He owns 65.6 percent success rate at the draw, good for third in the ACC, while his 15.25 wins per game are the most in the conference. Fowler has twice picked up a career-high 11 ground balls this season.

First Road Trip
Duke will make its first of five road trips this week as it travels to the City of Brotherly Love to take on Pennsylvania. The Blue Devils and Quakers face off Feb. 22 at 7 p.m., at historic Franklin Field.
