DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University senior Hanna Mar was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2014 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Women’s Team Indoor Championship on Friday, following a vote of the 16 head coaches that participated in the championship.

Along with Mar, sophomore Beatrice Capra, senior Marianne Jodoin and junior Annie Mulholland earned All-Tournament team accolades.

As a team, the seventh-seeded Blue Devils opened competition with convincing 4-2 victories over No. 11 Michigan, No. 3 North Carolina and No. 8 California, before coming back to knock off fifth-ranked UCLA, 4-3 to claim Duke’s second ITA Team Indoor Championship, hosted by the University of Virginia at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.

Mar, a product of Burr Ridge, Ill., went 3-0 in the third singles spot and clinched the final point for her team against UCLA, coming back from a set down to defeat Bruin’s 24th-ranked Jennifer Brady, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 10-3. Mar, currently ranked No. 42 in the ITA Women's Singles Rankings also clinched the Blue Devils’ 4-2 upset of defending champion North Carolina. On the heels of its win, Duke moved up to the top spot in the ITA Division I Women's Team Rankings.
In the quarterfinal against rival North Carolina, Mar came back from a set down to beat Whitney Kay 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 to clinch the 4-2 win for Duke. In the semifinals, it would again take a match tiebreak for Mar to get past Lynn Chi of Cal, which she did 6-3, 3-6, 10-4.
A native of Ellicott City, Md., Capra collected a 3-1 singles record over the weekend with victories against the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 15 competitors in the country.  In addition to excelling in singles play, Capra also performed well in doubles, teaming with Mar throughout the weekend to amass a doubles ledger of 2-1, with the lone loss coming at the hands of the No. 1 doubles pair in the country.

Duke duo of Jodoin and Mulholland took the court together for the first time at the ITA Indoors and collected a 2-1 record at the No. 3 slot.  The record included a 6-3 victory over 42nd-ranked Ashley Dai and Laura Slater to help the Blue Devils secure the doubles point.

Other members of the singles All-Tournament team include Hayley Carter (UNC), Zsofi Susanyi (California), Klara Fabikova (California) and Kaitlin Ray (UCLA).  On the doubles All-Tournament team were Robin Anderson and Brady of UCLA, Kyle McPhillips and Catherine Harrison of UCLA along with Duke’s Jodoin and Mulholland.

Duke will next travel to 10th-ranked Virginia to open ACC play on Feb. 21 at 3:30 p.m.
