DURHAM, N.C. – Duke fencers Dorian Cohen and Becca Ward, women’s swimmer Ashley Twichell and women’s tennis player Reka Zsilinszka all earned spots on the Capitol One Academic All-District III At-Large Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

Cohen was named to the Academic All-District III Men’s At-Large first team while Ward, Twichell and Zsilinszka all appeared on the women’s second team. Cohen and Zsilinszka are also recipients of ACC Postgraduate Scholarships, and all four Blue Devils are now eligible for Academic All-America consideration.

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and an Evolutionary Anthropology major, Cohen made his second career appearance on the Academic All-District squad to follow up ACC Postgraduate and NCAA Postgraduate Awards this year. A senior and soon to be a four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection, Cohen was named All-America for the third time this year, advanced to the NCAA Fencing Championships for the fourth time and finished his career with a 178-49 record. He graduated with a 3.54 grade point average.

Twichell, a native of Fayetteville, N.C., and a Psychology major, is one of only two Duke female swimmers to earn four straight selections to the All-ACC Academic Swimming and Diving Team. A senior, she is the 2011 ACC Champion in the 1650 meter free and garnered All-America honors after taking fifth place at the NCAA Championships. She owns a 3.82 GPA.

Ward, a native of Portland, Ore., and a Public Policy major, won her second NCAA Women’s Fencing Championship in 2011 while maintaining a 3.36 GPA. A member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll and an NCAA Saber Finalist in each of her three years, Ward owns a career 191-6 record and is the first two-time NCAA Champion in Duke fencing history.

A native of Fayetteville, N.C., Zsilinszka is a three-time All-ACC Academic Tennis Team selection and Duke’s all-time leader in ACC singles victories. An ACC Postgraduate Scholarship winner, she earned her second straight Academic All-District III selection this year along with her fourth All-ACC selection and the ITA Carolina Regional Senior of the Year award.
