Reka Zsilinszka, Nadine Fahoum and Ellah Nze will start competition on Wednesday in the 2011 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships after helping lead Duke to a 25-5 overall record and its third consecutive NCAA Quarterfinal appearance.STANFORD, Calif. – Senior’s
Zsilinszka and Fahoum will start singles on Wednesday, while Fahoum and Nze will team up in doubles on Thursday.
Zsilinszka will face a tough opponent to open her individual campaign in Jana Juricova, the No. 1 overall seed from California, on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. (ET). Zsilinszka finished the season with a 32-6 overall record in dual matches playing primarily in the No. 3 spot. Last year she fell in the opening round, but the previous two seasons advanced to the Round of 16 to earn back-to-back All-America honors.
Fahoum will square off with Aeriel Ellis from Texas at 1 p.m. (ET). Fahoum enters singles competition with an overall record of 21-19 in dual matches, and earned her 100th career singles and doubles wins this season.
In doubles, Fahoum and Nze will team up for the 17th time this season to face Kaitlyn Christian and Maria Sanchez, the No. 3 overall seed from Southern California. The No. 16 tandem of Fahoum and Nze posted an 11-5 overall doubles record, and made a great run this fall in the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships as they advanced through the qualifying rounds to reach the semifinals of the doubles main draw.
