Capra, the nation's second-ranked player, received the Atlantic Coast Conference's (ACC) automatic qualifying bid and the No. 2 overall seed in the draw. The Ellicott City, Md., native is 27-3 overall, 21-1 in dual matches and 18-3 against ranked opponents this season. The newcomer became the second player in school history since Karin Miller in 1997 to be named the ACC Player of the Year, ACC Freshman of the Year and the ACC Tournament's Most Valuable Player in the same season.
Mar, who received an at-large bid, ranks second on the team in wins with a 28-13 record and owns a 15-4 mark in dual matches. She is currently ranked No. 53 in the most recent poll.
In doubles, Capra and Kahan, the nation's 16th-ranked duo, sport a 19-5 record and are 8-2 against ranked opponents. Clayton and Goldfeld, ranked No. 21, own a 15-10 ledger this season and posted a solid 9-6 record playing in the No. 1 spot in the doubles lineup.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 23-28 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., following the conclusion of the team championship (May 17-22). All matches will be the best of three sets. Regular scoring and a 12-point tiebreaker at six games all will be used for all matches.
