PEBBLE BEACH, CA -- The Duke men's golf team fell, 18-6, to UCLA on Tuesday to finish as the runner-up at the Stanford Classic at Cypress Point CC. Tuesday's final round format consisted of six individual matches with four points on the line in each match (one point on the front nine, one point on the back nine and two points for combined score).

Senior Brinson Paolini collected all four points in his matchup with Jonathan Garrick in the finals. He finished the tournament with 7.5 total points for the Blue Devils. Tim Gornik, a senior from Slovenia, collected one point on the front nine of his match, while Mads Soegaard and Adam Sumrall each carded half a point in their matches, respectively.

Gornik collected eight total points and Sumrall added six points for the tournament.

The Blue Devils advanced to the finals with a four-ball win over USC and foursome win over host Stanford on Monday.

The Stanford Classic concludes the fall slate for the Blue Devils. Duke's next competition will be Feb. 24-26 at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
