DURHAM, N.C. – Three members of the Duke women’s tennis team, including recent graduate Marianne Jodoin, rising sophomore Chalena Scholl and rising senior Annie Mulholland, were named 2014 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athletes, as announced by the organization Thursday. The Duke women’s tennis team was also recognized by the association after maintaining a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or higher throughout the season.

The Blue Devils are joined by six ACC schools on the ITA Academic Teams list. In addition to Duke, Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, NC State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest also earned team honors from the ITA. The ACC’s newest member, Louisville, also appeared on the list.

Jodoin and Mulholland received the honor of being named ITA Scholar Athletes for the second time in their respective careers, while Scholl garnered the honor for the first time in her career.

A student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade point average for the current academic year, must remain enrolled at the present school for a minimum of two semesters and must earn a varsity letter to receive ITA Scholar-Athlete status.
