ORLANDO, Fla. - The third-ranked Duke women's tennis team defeated Central Florida, 7-0, Friday afternoon at the UCF Tennis Complex. The win marked the Blue Devils' sixth shutout, and the fourth complete sweep of the doubles point and all six singles matches this season.

Duke had no problem claiming the doubles point, as all three tandems won their matches. Freshman Beatrice Capra and sophomore Rachel Kahan, ranked 21st in the country, took down UCF's Alexis Rodriguez and Genevieve Lorbergs, 8-2, in the No. 1 spot, while freshman Annie Mulholland and sophomore Hanna Mar upended Jenna Doerfler and Courtney Griffith by the same score in the No. 2 spot. Ranked 54th junior Mary Clayton and freshman Ester Goldfeld defeated the combination of Taylor Dubins and Andrea Yacaman, 8-6, in the No. 3 slot.

The Blue Devils continued their dominance of the Knights in singles play. Ranked second in the nation, Capra cruised past Lorbergs, 6-1, 6-2, in the No. 1 spot, as the 108th-ranked Goldfeld outlasted Rodriguez, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot.

Mar, ranked 45th in the country and the reigning Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week, toppled Doerfler, 6-3, 6-2, from the No. 3 spot, while the 68th-ranked Clayton picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Dubins in the No. 4 spot and Kahan defeated Josephine Haraldson, 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 5 spot in the lineup. Mulholland claimed the win at No. 6 doubles to complete the sweep with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Allison Hodges.

The win was the 349th of head coach Jamie Ashworth's career, and he now stands just two wins behind the ACC's all-time leader, Kitty Harrison.

Duke will remain in the sunshine state for its final non-conference road tilt, when the Blue Devils travel to Gainesville, Fla. for a top-five showdown against second-ranked Florida. The match will be played next Wednesday, Mar. 14 at 3 p.m.
