DURHAM, N.C. – Several former Blue Devils are performing well with their teams overseas this winter, Mistie Mims has scored in double figures in four consecutive games for Union Lyon Basket Feminin in France. Krystal Thomas posted dominant stats during her campaign with the Jiangsu Phoenix in China, averaging 17.6 points per game and 14.1 rebounds. After starting the season with CSM Targoviste in Romania, Monique Currie is now playing in Spain, posting back-to-back double digit scoring games in her first two contests with the Perfumerias Avenida Salamanca.

Karima Christmas
Maccabi Ramat Hen – Israel
2012-13 Stats:
14 games, 15.9 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 1.9 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.7 BPG
Christmas is the leading scorer for the Maccabi Ramat Hen through 14 games this season, shooting the ball better than 50-percent. She is shooting well from beyond the arc, at a 29-percent clip, while grabbing 9.6 boards per game. Christmas has recorded a double-double in her past two games, including 16 points and 11 rebounds against Hap. Petah Tikva in her last game.

She has consistently shot the ball well with a 63.6 shooting percentage for the season. In a recent quarterfinal round one game against Shanxi, Thomas recorded a double-double with 18 points and 15 assists. In another game against Henan on Jan. 5, Thomas scored 23 points, while grabbing 17 rebounds. Thomas’ season with the Phoenix is now complete after falling in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.

Black is also averaging a double-double for the season, with 12.1 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. She is second on her team in scoring, while shooting a team-best 50-percent from the floor. In a 69-61 loss against Ceyhan BLD, Black recorded a double-double with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor and 12 rebounds, while dishing out four assists. In her most recent game, Black scored a team-high 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting and also collected 13 boards.

Mistie Mims (Bass)
Union Lyon Basket Feminin – France

After missing the first four games of the season, Mims is the leading scorer for Union Lyon Basket Feminin, averaging 16 points for the season. In a recent game on Jan. 20, Mims scored a game-high 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Mims has scored 20 or more points in two of her past three games, while scoring in double-figures in her past four contests.

Alana Beard

After signing to play in Poland, Beard has appeared in just six games this season for the TS Wisla Can-Pack Krakow, while averaging 13.7 points per game. In her fourth game of the season, Beard scored a game-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor. She ranks fourth on the team in scoring for the season. Wisla Can-Pack Krakow owns a 12-3 record this year, ranking third in the league.

Currie played her first game of the season for Perfumerias Avenida Salamanca in Spain on Jan. 20. In her debut, Currie scored 11 points and grabbed eight boards in a 74-63 win over Rivas Ecopolis. In her most recent game on Jan. 26, Currie scored a game-high 15 points in a 76-53 victory over Caja Rural.

Sheana Mosch

Mosch has played in eight games this season for Charleville, averaging a team-best 16 points per game. In a 67-56 loss against Landes, Mosch scored a game-high 27 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three-point land. In her most recent game, Mosch scored 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting.

Jessica Foley
