Mitch Moser joined the Duke staff in 1997 and serves as the department’s Deputy Director of Athletics/Resource Development and Management/CFO. He was promoted into his current role in November of 2016.
Moser's responsibilities include oversight of the department’s financial operation, Resource Acquisition unit, band and cheerleading programs, athletic travel, information systems and game operations. He also serves as the sport supervisor for Duke's men's and women's swimming and diving teams.
Moser came to Duke after serving as the athletic ticket and business manager at Rice University from 1992-97.
Moser is a 1985 graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., with degrees in business administration and communications. He was a three-year letterwinner in basketball, serving as team captain his senior year.
Moser earned a master's degree in Sports Administration from Ohio University in 1990. Following that he worked in the Continental Basketball Association for two years as Director of Media Relations for the Rapid City (S.D.) Thrillers and Assistant General Manager of the Bakersfield (Calif.) Jammers.
Moser and his wife, Cathy, reside in Durham with their two children, Emily and Reid.
