Ryan Cakerice joined the Facilities and Game Operations staff in May 2007. He assists in all aspects of facilities and game operations event planning and execution for all of Duke’s athletic home events. Cakerice also serves as the primary event manager for all major ancillary events in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Cakerice is an active member of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) and Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA). He is also a member of National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) and has served on the NCS4 Intercollegiate Athletics Safety and Security Advisory Committee since January 2016.
Cakerice received a B.A. degree in exercise science-sport management from Buena Vista University in 2004. While at B.V.U. Cakerice played football for three years and served as a student assistant coach after injuries cut his playing days short. Cakerice also spent the winter of 2004 as an event management intern at Iowa State University. He earned a masters degree in sport administration from Wichita State University in May 2008.
A native of Maxwell, Iowa, Cakerice and his wife, Kimberly, currently reside in Cary with their daughter Madelyn and son Landon.
