Jeremiah Walker joined the Duke staff in May, 2008 and serves as an Assistant Director of Academic Services, working primarily with the football and men’s tennis programs.
Walker also serves as the Football Coordinator of Campus Relations. He is the liaison with the Dean of Students Office and Office of Student Conduct. Walker coordinates on-campus student housing assignments and manages student-athletes’ Bursar, Duke Card and transportation accounts. He also develops and implements first-year student transition programs and orientation, and coordinates the Guest Coaching Program for Duke faculty and administration.
A native of Russell, Ky., Walker came to Duke after working as the academic coordinator for men’s and women’s basketball and the Director of Tutoring Services at Marshall University for 16 months. He worked as an Academic Counselor at Ohio University in the fall of 2006. While at Ohio he was responsible for the field hockey, men’s and women’s golf and wrestling programs.
While earning his master’s degree in sport administration from Marshall, he worked with the Thundering Herd football program as a graduate assistant in academics during the 2005-06 academic year.
Walker currently resides in Durham. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Kentucky in 2003.
