Vanessa Webb, a native of Toronto, Canada, was a two-time ITA National Player of the Year honoree in women’s tennis in 1998 and 1999.  A four-time All-America choice (1996-97-98-99), Webb helped the Blue Devils to four ACC regular season and tournament championships, four NCAA Tournament berths and an appearance in the 1998 national title match.

As a junior, Webb won 44 singles matches, captured the NCAA individual singles crown with a straight set victory over Stanford’s Ania Bleszynski and received the ACC’s Garber Award as the conference’s top female student-athlete.  The 1996 ACC and ITA National Rookie of the Year, Webb completed her career with an overall singles ledger of 161-25 (.866) and remains atop the school’s all-time singles victories chart.

Webb helped the Blue Devils to a four-year record of 103-16 (.866) including a perfect 32-0 ledger in ACC regular season action.  She was named the ACC Player of the Year as both a junior and senior.

Webb’s playing career included ACC flight championships at No. 1 singles in both 1998 and 1999.  Along with teammate Karen Goldstein, she captured league flight championships at the No. 1 doubles position the same two seasons.

Webb also represented Canada at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
