DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke football team travels west today to take on Stanford Saturday, September 8.  Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. (ET).  Recently, sat down with senior safety Walt Canty to learn more about the Roebuck, S.C., native. What has been your proudest moment at Duke?
Walt Canty: I would say it is probably a tie between winning my first game and achieving All-ACC Academic. What is your favorite thing about being a Duke student-athlete?
WC: We have a lot of different events that other students don't have the opportunity to go to, so meeting a lot of people in other sports. What has been your favorite class at Duke? Least favorite?
WC: Chemistry 103. Professor Paul is a really great guy. He is into what he is teaching. I like all of the classes I have taken, some are tougher than others but I like them all really. What was your favorite food as a child?
WC: Pasta. My mama's pasta was always great. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? What do you want to be now?
WC: I never really thought about it, but probably like everybody else just a fireman or a football player. I want to be a lot of different things still. Which chore do you absolutely hate doing?
WC: Washing dishes. I do not like washing dishes. I don't like my hands in the water that long because they start getting wrinkles. What is the first thing you notice about people?
WC: Probably their eyes, because, when I see them I look directly into their eyes. What kind of music do you have on your IPod?
WC: I listen to a little bit of everything from hip-hop, country, pop and R&B. I have a pretty good mix. What sport other than your own do you wish you could play?
WC: I was pretty good at basketball, so maybe basketball. I used to swim, so maybe a swimmer.
