Knight won the 100-yard breaststroke for the fourth time in five meets this season, clocking 55.65 to surpass the previous pool record in the event. The Richmond, Va., native completed the sweep with a first-place finish in the 200 breaststroke, posting a time of 2:02.83. Knight has now won the 200 breaststroke three times this season.
Knight also placed second in the 200 IM with a mark of 1:53.77, in addition to helping the Blue Devils' 200 medley relay edge South Carolina for a win, swimming 25.29 split on the second leg of the relay.
Duke's top performer in the 100 and 200 breaststroke this season, Knight owns season-best marks of 54.86 in the 100 breaststroke and 1:59.80 at the 200-yard distance. His 54.86 clocking in the 100 breaststroke earlier this season was good for an NCAA provisional standard.
The Duke men are 1-4 this season and 0-3 against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. The Blue Devils return to action Sunday, Jan. 20 at Virginia at 12 p.m.
