Caylan Ashworth joined Duke Athletics in October 2010 and serves as the Director of Iron Dukes, Operations.
In her current position, Ashworth manages the Iron Dukes operating budget, oversees athletics facilities dedications, develops donor recognition signage across the Duke Athletics Campus, solicits major gifts for Duke Athletics and serves on the senior leadership team for the Deputy Director of Athletics/Development .
Prior roles within Duke Athletics have included Associate Director of Iron Dukes Major Gifts and Assistant Director of Athletics Development wherein she was responsible for securing major gifts for annual operating needs, capital projects, and endowments. Additionally, Ashworth planned and managed Blue Devil Chalk Talks and the Duke Experience, a premier program for major gifts prospects and donors.
Prior to coming to Duke, Ashworth worked as an Account Executive for Genesis Marketing Partners in Cary, N.C. She also served as the Pro Player Manager for North and South America at Prince Sports, Inc. in Bordentown, N.J. While at Prince Sports, Inc., Ashworth was responsible for signing new professional talent, negotiating player contracts, and working closely with sports agents.
A 2004 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Ashworth received a degree in Graphic Design and Computer Applications. She was captain of the tennis team in 2004 and voted the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2003.
Currently, Ashworth resides in Durham with her husband Jamie and their two children, Bryce and Molly.
