DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke Athletics stands in 25th place in the final fall Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, released by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics on Thursday.

Overall, Duke has 370.60 points and ranks fourth among private institutions behind Stanford (1st), Notre Dame (3rd) and Princeton (14th). Five current Atlantic Coast Conference schools are ranked among the top 25 – North Carolina (6th), Florida State (7th), Virginia Tech (18th), Virginia (19th) and Duke (25th). The Blue Devils ended up with a 16th-place finish in 2011-12.

Duke added 156.6 points from its previous point total based on winter championship placements in fencing (54), men’s swimming and diving (57), women’s indoor track and field (37) and wrestling (8.6).  
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women’s and 10 men’s.
