DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior Rebecca Craigie to learn more about the Macclesfield, U.K., native.
GoDuke.com: What are your favorite things about being a student-athlete at Duke?
Rebecca Craigie: I think the chance to travel to all these different places with the team. And to get to go with such a great group of people.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite competition-related memory?
RC: When I was a freshman, the DMR (distance medley relay) team made it to indoor nationals. That was really awesome for me to go and experience such a high level. A lot of the girls who went were older, so they gave me a lot of tips and encouragement. It was really awesome to be in that setting.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite memory away from competition?
RC: I would say our time at ZAP, which is where we went for preseason. The team just clicked better than ever. It was a really memorable few days and everyone had such a great time and got some really awesome training in.
GoDuke.com: What do you want to accomplish in the next 10 years?
RC: I really don’t know what I want to do when I graduate, but I think the main thing is just making sure I’m doing something that I’m loving and enjoy doing every single day.
GoDuke.com: Where would you travel to if you could go anywhere in the world?
RC: I love Switzerland and the Swiss Alps. I spent a lot of time there growing up and I would love to go back there.
GoDuke.com: What are some of your favorite restaurants in Durham?
RC: I love Metro 8 and I also love Nana’s. Those are my two staples when my parents come visit.
GoDuke.com: Describe Coach Kevin Jermyn in a couple of words.
RC: Wise and caring.
