GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference continues its sportsmanship awareness campaign by recognizing Spring Sportsmanship Week from Monday, April 7 through Sunday, April 13. ACC Sportsmanship Weeks are a campaign to emphasize sportsmanship as it relates to ACC teams, the conference and fans by designating one week during the fall, winter and spring seasons.
At all ACC home competitions during Spring Sportsmanship Week, every league team will showcase its continued dedication to sportsmanship by participating in a pregame handshake. In addition to the teams’ efforts, the conference and member schools will highlight the initiative to its fans through releases, social media platforms and on official websites.
A total of 135 intercollegiate athletic events are scheduled to take place during the 2014 ACC Spring Sportsmanship Awareness Week. All spring sports (baseball, softball, men’s golf, women’s golf, men’s track & field, women’s track & field, rowing, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s tennis and women’s tennis) will be involved.

Established in 2010, ACC Sportsmanship Weeks is a campaign to recognize and promote sportsmanship. During the 2013-14 academic year, three specific weeks were tabbed as ACC Sportsmanship Weeks: October 15-November 3 (Fall), January 20-26 (Winter) and April 7-13 (Spring).
