DURHAM, N.C.- Duke University junior standouts Natasha Anasi and Kaitlyn Kerr have been selected to the 11-member preseason All-America team by All White Kit released this week.

Other members of the All-America team include Adrianna Franch (Oklahoma State), Alina Garciamendez (Stanford), Ines Jaurena (Florida State), Crystal Dunn (North Carolina), Kristen Mewis (Boston College), Christine Nairn (Penn State), Amber Brooks (North Carolina), Maya Hayes (Penn State) and Katie Stengel (Wake Forest).

A 5-6 native of Arlington, Va., Anasi is coming off a sophomore campaign where she helped the Blue Devils to a school-record 16 shutouts.  She was a Soccer America First Team MVP, semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, NSCAA First Team All-America and All-ACC First Team selection last year.

Anasi started all 27 matches and moved from the midfield to the central defender slot in the fourth match of the season after redshirt junior Ashley Rape went down with an ACL injury.  She scored one goal, had one assist and logged the second-most minutes on the team (2,339).

A product of Bensalem, Pa., Kerr earned NSCAA Third Team All-America accolades after registering a breakout season for the Blue Devils in 2011 with 11 goals, five assists and 27 points in the midfield. During Duke’s NCAA Tournament run, Kerr scored five goals to become the Blue Devils’ all-time leading scorer in NCAA action with six tallies in only two years.

Kerr was a first team All-ACC selection and member of the NCAA College Cup All-Tournament team last year, while registering six game-winning goals.

The 2012 campaign will officially kick off on Friday, Aug. 17 at 7:00 pm at William & Mary. The Blue Devils will open its home schedule at Koskinen Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 6 pm against Elon. Duke is slated to play nine home contests this season, all at Koskinen Stadium.
