DURHAM, N.C.-- Every year, before we go home for break, the one and only head coach Robbie Church and his wonderful wife Linda host a Christmas party for all of us DWS'ers. Prior to this night, we all pick out a name of someone on our team to buy a present for, for Secret Santa. This past party was hilarious, as usual.

Robbie greeted us at the door this year with his light up Christmas tree hat and a huge smile on his face. We all filed in and lined up for some dinner (from Cinelli's of course, Robbie's favorite). After dinner, we all squeezed in on the couch, floor and chairs in the living room and watched the national final game, which happened to be on the same time we were there. Before we started Secret Santa, I took a peek into the dining room where Carson (Carla's daughter), Bug, and Addy (Billy's daughters) were building gingerbread houses. They looked amazing and I threatened to eat them right then and there but I was quickly scolded by the hard working girls.

As you can imagine, 29 girls participating in Secret Santa can get a little bit crazy! Some of us give serious gifts and others give prank ones. For example, I had Alex Straton. I bought her a pack of fake mustaches and a book called "Pick Ups and Come Ons" because I figured with her hilarious personality she would get a kick out of using these things to be even more silly than she already is!

Other memorable gifts were a cute tube top (that went to Tabria), a Ramen noodle salad (that went to Kaitlyn), and a costume box that has been passed down over the years (that went to Danielle). With every opened present was a new set of stories and laughs. The coaches usually sit in the kitchen and glance over occasionally when there is an uproar of laughter to see what the commotion is all about.

This year is especially one to remember because it is the fourth and last Secret Santa for six of my best friends, my fellow seniors, will participate in. Next years will be fun of course, but it won't be the same without this year's special senior class!

Hope everyone has a very happy holidays from Duke women's soccer.
