DURHAM, N.C.— Duke University freshman standout Rebecca Quinn has been promoted to Canada’s Women’s Soccer National Team and has traveled to Europe for the 2014 Cyprus Cup.

This will be the first action for Quinn with the national team following recently competing with Canada’s U-20 National Team from Feb. 16-27.  She will be eligible to play for Canada on Friday against Italy, before concluding group stage play versus England on Monday, March 10.

Quinn, who is a product of Toronto, Canada, started the first four matches of her collegiate career at Duke before being saddled with injuries. After being injured against New Mexico on Sept. 1, Quinn only played in three other matches the rest of the season.  The midfielder collected one assist against Boston College.  She has been a part of Canada’s U-20 and U-17 National Teams.
