DURHAM, N.C. – After knocking off fifth-ranked and second-seeded Florida on Sunday in Gainesville, Fla., the Duke women’s soccer team will next travel to Stillwater, Okla., to face sixth-ranked Oklahoma State on Friday, Nov. 19 at 8:00 p.m. (EST) in the NCAA Sweet 16.

Duke (11-7-4) registered a 2-1 victory over California in the first round and then bounced the fifth-ranked Gators on Sunday, 4-2, in penalty kicks, after battling to a 0-0 draw through two overtimes.  Blue Devil sophomore goalkeeper Tara Campbell saved the first Florida penalty kick and the Gators missed their fourth attempt to the right.  For Duke, sophomore Nicole Lipp, senior Meaghan FitzGerald, senior Marybeth Kreger and senior Lynnea Pappas each stepped forward and drained their kicks to push the Blue Devils through.

Oklahoma State is seeded third in the bracket and has notched a 19-3-2 overall record on the season.  Over the weekend, the Cowboys notched a 2-1 win over Michigan on Friday and then knocked off 15th-ranked Oregon State on Sunday, 2-1.  Oklahoma State has been led by Krista Lopez with 14 goals on the season.

The Blue Devils and Cowboys will meet for the first time in school history.
