DURHAM, N.C. -  Duke University sophomore Mollie Pathman is one of 20 players selected to travel to La Manga, Spain with the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team from Feb. 3-15 for the Four Nations Tournament that also features Switzerland, Germany and Norway.

Head Coach Steve Swanson will see the USA open with the Swiss on Feb. 9, face the Germans on Feb. 11 and finished with the Norwegians on Feb. 13. Fifteen of the 20 players on the roster are in college with five in high school, including both goalkeepers.

Pathman, a native of Durham, N.C., was a member of the NCAA College Cup All-Tournament team, after registering two goals in the semifinal match against Wake Forest.  The 5-3 forward registered an ACC-best 11 assists on the season, while notching six goals and 23 points.  She was an All-ACC Second Team honoree for the second straight year and received the NCAA Elite 89 Award at the NCAA College Cup for having the highest grade-point average of all the student-athletes at the championship.

The squad is preparing for the CONCACAF Qualifying that will take place in Panama City, Panama, from March 1-11. That tournament will send three teams to the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which was to be held in Uzbekistan but has since been relocated by FIFA. The new host has not yet been confirmed, but Japan is the front-runner.

A forward with the Blue Devils, Pathman plays on the defensive end with the national team.
