Hello Blue Devil Fans!

Today was game day against our first opponent - Sweden. We were so excited to take the field after all of our training. It was finally nice to get out and play against new faces and compete for meaning especially there being a bit of a rivalry between our countries as our coaches stressed to us.

We knew that they were vying to beat us, just as much as we wanted to win this game to set the tone for the tournament. They let us sleep in a little more and then, we were off for the 1:00 p.m. kickoff. In a well-played match and we managed to pull out a 2-0 victory over the U-23 Swedish National Team. It was definitely a good result and shows that our hard work in the duration of this camp to this point has in fact paid off.

Many of us are excited for tomorrow being that we have only one practice and are actually going to explore Cartagena, Spain. We are all excited to get a nice break from the resort and the sights that have become accustomed to us. Resting has in fact been nice but, I think that getting out will be a nice change of pace and will also make for a memorable experience to add to the list.

Go Duke!
