DURHAM, N.C. -  The Duke women's soccer team returns home Thursday night, September 20, to face off against Maryland at 7 p.m. in Koskinen Stadium.  Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior defender Libby Jandl to learn more about the Mission Hills, Kan., native.

GoDuke.com: What has been your proudest moment at Duke?
Libby Jandl: Wow that's a tough one. I would say my proudest moment was probably winning our Final Four game and just making it to the national championship game. I mean starting the preseason off unranked and then making it all the way there was absolutely fantastic and we had a very special season and I think that was a perfect moment.

GoDuke.com: What has been your favorite part about being a Duke student-athlete?
LJ: I would say my favorite part is just being a part of the team. All the girls on my team, they feel like family and we have such a strong bond on and off the field and I think it will last a lifetime.

GoDuke.com: What do you think is the most misunderstood thing about soccer?
LJ: The perception of goal keepers are a little off.

GoDuke.com: What has been your favorite class at Duke?
LJ: I've had a bunch of different ones, but right now I am in a finance class with Emma Rasiel and it is really applicable to what I'm going to be doing next year. I had a sales and trading internship this past summer in New York and I'm learning a lot that is building off of that internship and it's cool to see how it applies.

GoDuke.com: What's been your most challenging class?
LJ: I would probably say Econ 51 with professor Fullenkamp. It was my freshman fall and so it was my first semester and when I was still trying to figure things out and it was during season and we were away a lot and I had to miss a lot of classes for it too.

GoDuke.com: Tell us about a time when you first started playing soccer.
LJ: I remember the first game I scored in when I was like five or something my brother had a game the same day and we both got back in the car and I was like 'Mom I scored a goal!' and my brother was like 'Well I scored two!' or something. I just always remember playing with my brother in the back yard and he's shaped who I am today. He's made me a lot tougher too.

GoDuke.com: What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
LJ: Cleaning my room and doing my laundry. Actually, doing my laundry I would say is the biggest.

GoDuke.com: Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
LJ: I would say both my parents. I mean I have the world's best parents in my opinion. I have a really close relationship with them and they would do anything for me and they have really taught me a lot of values. I think one in particular is to work hard and no matter what I'm doing I will always be giving it my all and I might not be the most talented in what I'm doing but I'm always going to be one of the hardest workers.

GoDuke.com: What's your favorite midnight snack?
LJ: Probably Cosmic Cantina.

GoDuke.com: Do you have any hidden talents?
LJ: My teammates think that one of my hidden talents is that I can juggle with the inside of my feet. They think it is really weird because no one else really juggles there and I don't know. I guess I'm good at it.
