DURHAM, N.C.-  Recently Duke women’s soccer junior Anastasia Hunt and her family lost their home in the tragic Moore, Okla., tornado on May 20, 2013.  Since then her family has started the rebuilding process to move on with their lives.  The Duke athletic department is helping the family by creating the Anastasia Hunt Fund to help collect money to assist in the rebuilding process.

“I am very proud of our team, the Duke community and the Blue Devil athletic department to be able to set up this fund for Anastasia and her family,” commented Duke head coach Robbie Church.  “We have been in constant contact with her during the recent weeks.  They are recovering well and are moving forward.  We hope this fund will help them continue to rebuild their lives in Oklahoma.”

From now through the end of the 2013 Duke women’s soccer season, Duke will be collecting money that will go to the Hunt family.  For those interested in donating, you can contact Jocelyn Fisher of the Iron Dukes at (919) 613-7478 or  Checks can be made out to Duke University and sent to Fisher at 116 Cameron Indoor Stadium, Box 90542, Durham, N.C., 27708.

Hunt, a rising junior defender for the Blue Devils, has appeared in 11 career contests for Duke over the last two years.  She has helped the Blue Devils to an appearance in the 2011 NCAA College Cup and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight a year ago.
