DURHAM, N.C. – Following registering a career-high nine saves on the road at Maryland on Sunday, Duke University redshirt junior goalkeeper Meghan Thomas was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week.
Thomas, who is a product of Castle Rock, Colo., was making her first appearance on the pitch since Aug. 30, after dealing with a shoulder injury. The 6-2 keeper came up big for the Blue Devils as she played the entire 90 minutes and helped Duke net a key, 2-1, road ACC victory over the Terrapins. Thomas’ nine saves was the most by a Blue Devil goalkeeper this season.
In three matches this season, Thomas has posted a 0.80 goals-against average, 10 saves and totaled one shutout. Thomas has appeared in 11 career matches for the Blue Devils.
Duke (5-6-3, 2-4-2 ACC) will next travel to Clemson, S.C., for a road contest at Clemson on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m. The match will be aired live on ESPN3.
