8. Duke Men’s Golf – 2010-11 Season
Head coach Jamie Green guided Duke to one of its most successful seasons in 2010-11 as the Blue Devils captured three tournament titles and reached the semifinals of match play at the NCAA Championships. Duke won the prestigious Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship as well as stroke-play titles at the Irish Creek Collegiate and NCAA East Regional.
The Blue Devils fired a third round low score at the NCAA Championship to climb up the leaderboard and secure a spot in the match play championship with an eighth place finish. Duke then defeated top-seeded UCLA, 3-1-1, in the quarterfinals before falling, 3-2, in a tightly contested semifinal match against Georgia.
Brinson Paolini received honorable mention All-America and All-ACC accolades in 2011. He was also joined on the PING All-East Region team by Tim Gornik, Wes Roach and Julian Suri. Five Blue Devils were named to the All-ACC Academic team, while all eight team members earned ACC Academic Honor Roll status.
