DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke women's lacrosse program welcomed another outstanding freshman class this year under the direction of head coach Kerstin Kimel. With seven freshmen joining the squad this fall for preseason training and tournament play, GoDuke.com caught up with each Blue Devil rookie to take a closer look at the talented recruiting class.
The third of the seven signees to be featured is Claire Scarrone, a midfielder from Rumson, N.J. Scarrone was listed among the top 25 incoming freshmen in the country according to MaxPreps and was named to Inside Lacrosse's watchlist for the top rising freshmen. A four-year letterwinner at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional, Scarrone garnered Under Armour and US Lacrosse All-America honors as a senior while twice leading her team to the New Jersey North Group II state finals. She finished her prep career with 139 goals, 112 assists, 252 ground balls, 95 draw controls and 110 forced turnovers.
