No. 24 Duke at North Carolina
November 30, 2013
Chapel Hill, N.C. (Kenan Stadium)
ESPN2 | Blue Devil IMG Sports Network

Duke vs. North Carolina
• Riding a seven-game winning streak, 24th-ranked Duke travels to Chapel Hill for the regular season finale against North Carolina ... Kickoff is set for 12 noon ... The game will be broadcast live by ESPN2 with Beth Mowins (play-by-play), Joey Galloway (analyst) and Paul Carcaterra (sideline)

• The Blue Devils are 9-2 (5-2 ACC) after defeating Wake Forest, 28-21, last week ... The Tar Heels are 6-5 (4-3 ACC) after downing Old Dominion, 80-20, this past Saturday

• Duke has clinched at least a share of the ACC’s Coastal Division championship ... The Blue Devils can win the title outright and earn a spot in the ACC Championship game against Florida State with a win this week ... Duke will not represent the Coastal Division in the league title tilt with a loss to the Tar Heels ... Duke’s last ACC crown in football came in 1989 when it tied Virginia for the top spot

• Duke enters the week ranked No. 24 in the latest Associated Press national poll, up from 25th a week ago ... Last week’s ranking marked Duke’s first since being ranked No. 25 at the conclusion of the 1994 regular season ... Duke is 89-36-5 when playing as a nationally-ranked squad ... The Blue Devils are ranked 24th in this week’s USA Today/Coaches poll and BCS standings

• Saturday’s game will mark the 100th on the gridiron between the two schools ... North Carolina leads the all-time series by a 58-37-4 count ... The series began in 1888 with a 16-0 Duke victory ... Last year, Duke snapped an eight-game losing streak to the Tar Heels with a 33-30 win

• Duke’s current seven-game winning streak is the longest since the 1994 squad won its first seven games ... The school record for consecutive wins is nine set in 1933, 1938 & 1941

• Duke has matched the school record for wins in a season, equaling the standard set by the 1933, 1936, 1938 & 1941 teams ... Duke’s five ACC wins are the most in conference play since 1994 when the Blue Devils posted a 5-3 final league ledger

• Three times this season the Blue Devils have rallied from double-digit deficits to win ... Duke trailed by 10+ points in victories over Virginia (22-0), Miami (17-7) and Wake Forest (14-0)

• The battle for the Victory Bell began in 1948 with North Carolina earning possession with a 20-0 win ... Head cheerleaders from Duke (Loring Jones) and North Carolina (Norman Spear) decided on the idea, with Jones designing the model and Spear obtaining a bell from an old railroad train ... Red Lewis, Duke’s business manager, agreed to find money in the budget to pay for the bell
