DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke football team travels to Tallahassee, Fla., to face off against Florida State on Saturday, October 27.  Game time is set for 3:30 p.m., (ET).  Recently, sat down with senior Austin Gamble to learn more about the Weston, Fla., native. Tell us about a time when you first started playing your sport.
Austin Gamble: I started when I was in sixth grade, playing tackle football. I had one of the hardest coaches I ever had to date. We would have to do sit-ups and push-ups. He would yell and scream at us, we were only like 10 or 11 years old. I wanted to quit, but my dad told me that you will never have a coach as hard and crazy as him. What has been your favorite class at Duke?
AG: A class I am in right now, which is sculpture with Bill Nolan. It is very different than I thought it would be. We actually use wood, power tools and metal. It is very fun and challenging. What has been your least favorite class at Duke?
AG: Biology 102, which was a lot of the different mathematic concepts and evolutionary concept. It was a challenge but I conquered it. What was your favorite food when you were a child?
AG: Cheese. Anything with cheese. Stringed cheese, mozzarella cheese, macaroni and cheese; still to this day I like extra cheese on anything I have. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
AG: I wanted to be a veterinarian and work with large animals. I love animals and wanted to work with big exotic animals. I still do but it would be kind of tough. What do you want to be now?
AG: I don't know, I am on the track team also so I want to pursue that this upcoming spring. I have high goals for that. After that, I want to go to graduate school and pursue a degree in kinesiology or sport science Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
AG: My dad. He is an NFL strength coach for the Bills. He has done a lot of the things that I want to do. He has competed in power lifting and throwing the disc. A lot of my athletic and spiritual inspiration has come from him. He is my dad and it is easy to go to him. What is your favorite midnight snack?
AG: I really like pound cake. I will buy a little loaf of pound cake from Whole Foods and I will eat the whole thing by myself in about two days. Do you have any hidden talents?
AG: I am artistic, but I don't know if that is really hidden. I can dance a little, I don't dance that much in public though.
