DURHAM, N.C. – With the 2014 edition of spring practice in the rear view mirror, rising junior running back Shaquille Powell discusses Duke’s offensive backfield among other topics in an interview with Ryan Craig.

Last season, Powell rushed 62 times for 344 yards and two touchdowns as the Blue Devils averaged 4.6 yards per attempt and 178.0 rushing yards per game – the highest marks under head coach David Cutcliffe.  Powell joins rising redshirt senior Josh Snead as Duke’s top returning backs, with Snead leading the club in rushing with 651 yards.

Duke returns 44 lettermen and 17 starters – including three All-Americans and eight All-ACC picks – from last year’s unit that went 10-4, captured the ACC’s Coastal Division championship and appeared in the 46th annual Chick-fil-A Bowl.  Cutcliffe, who enters his seventh season atop the program, earned ACC Coach of the Year honors for the second straight year and received National Coach of the Year accolades from five outlets.

The Blue Devils will open the 2014 season at home against Elon on Saturday, August 30.  Duke season tickets may be purchased online at GoDuke.com/tickets or by calling the Duke Athletic Ticket Office at 919-681-BLUE.
