The Duke Football Summer Spotlight runs every Tuesday and Thursday on GoDuke.com and features interviews with members of the reigning ACC Coastal Division Champion Blue Devils.
DURHAM, N.C. -- Senior Jamison Crowder is the focus of today's Duke Football Summer Spotlight. The 5-9, 175-pound wide receiver from Monroe, N.C., returns as one of the top receivers in the nation and the key component of Duke's passing game.
Crowder broke the ACC single-season record with 108 receptions in 2013, yielding a season line of 1,360 yards and eight touchdowns. That does not include his impact in the return game where he earned All-America second team honors after taking back 25 punts for 401 yards (16.0 yards per return) and two touchdowns. Crowder also scored a rushing touchdown in 2013 to total 11 touchdowns on the year.
After totaling 20 receptions for 223 yards and a touchdown over his final two games against No. 1 Florida State in the ACC Championship game and No. 21 Texas A&M in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, Crowder is no longer an unknown on the college football scene. He has earned preseason first team All-America honors heading into his final year at Duke and is among the leading candidates for the Biletnikoff Award (top receiver) and Hornung Award (most versatile player).
Cash is one of 43 letterwinners returning to Duke in 2014. The Blue Devils open the season on August 30 against Elon at Wallace Wade Stadium. Tickets are available at http://www.goduke.com/footballtix or by calling (919) 681-BLUE.
