DURHAM, N.C. -- With heavy rains forcing the Blue Devils into the Pascal Field House, the Duke football team practiced in full pads for the first time on Saturday evening.

"We had good, productive work today," said head coach David Cutcliffe. "I've been pleased with both the upperclassmen and the first-year guys. We've had good, solid effort."

The Blue Devils will return to the practice field on Sunday evening before holding the team's first scrimmage of the preseason on Monday night.

Duke opens the season on Saturday, August 31, against N.C. Central in Wallace Wade Stadium. Kickoff is at 4 p.m., and tickets are available at www.GoDuke.com/tickets or by calling (919) 681-BLUE.
